Question:How is PSIPS generally to be used?
Answer: At present, this system acts as a storage and retrieval site for Sequence Listings that are at least 300 pages (roughly 600Kb), mega table sections that are at least 200 contiguous pages, and other mega items. The data have been included in either a granted US patent or a published US patent application. Shorter Sequence Listings and tables are accessible via Patents-, and Applications-, on-the-Web home pages.
Question:An allowance notice is sent to the applicant if any fee for issuing the patent is applicable
Answer:
A Notice of Allowance and Fee(s) Due will be sent to the applicant, or to applicant’s attorney or agent of record, if any, and a fee for issuing the patent and if applicable, for publishing the patent application publication is due within three months from the date of the notice.
Question:How do I obtain a copy of a patent or a patent application publication?
Answer:
Copies of patents or patent application publications, shipped via the U.S. Postal Service, may be purchased for $3 each. To order a patent copy, you must provide the patent number. To order a copy of a patent application publication, you must provide the publication number.
